Highway 400 / 6th Interchange
Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) Review

Project Overview

In 2017, the Town of Innisfil completed a Schedule ‘C’ Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) for the proposed interchange at Highway 400 and 6th Line (as shown in the key plan). The project was cleared to proceed after an Environmental Study Report (ESR) received EA approval in 2017. The Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) is entering into a co-proponency with the Town to undertake a Municipal Class EA Review of the preliminary design for the new interchange. This review involves updating existing environmental conditions and determining whether any design changes to the proposed interchange are required. The MTO retained Morrison Hershfield and HDR to undertake the review.

The EA Review will follow the requirements of the Municipal Class EA process. Engagement will take place throughout the study with Indigenous communities, external agencies, adjacent property owners, and members of the public. A Study Update will be provided on this project website later in the study to present the outcome of the review and any proposed design changes to the interchange, for further review and comment (Refer to “Project Updates” on the Homepage).
